Changes in COVID-19 restrictions

August 19, 2021 Update

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Dear Hampshire Mosque community,

A few pertinent updates:
1. Masks Required
At the recommendation of the Hadley Board of Health and CDC, masks will again be required when attending Hampshire Mosque, whether you are vaccinated or not.
We recognize each individual has their personal beliefs about COVID and the ways in which this pandemic has been handled; however, as Muslims we are obliged to follow the laws of the land and the consensus of medical authorities, so long as they do not contradict Islamic principles.

Wearing a mask is a simple thing we can do to minimize spreading harm. Masks will be available at the door if you do not bring your own.

2. Wudu Areas
Bathrooms have been reopened, but should be reserved for those who cannot make wudu before coming to the masjid.
It is sunnah to make wudu at home before heading to the masjid (Sahih Bukhari #647), and helps to prevent transmission.

3. Social Distancing
Social distancing will continue. Please continue to bring your own prayer rug or barrier to pray on.
Doors may be closed when the masjid has reached capacity. Jumu’a starts at 1pm, please do your best to arrive on time.

4. Donations Needed
Alhamdulillah a sister from a professional cleaning company has been hired to sanitize the masjid on a weekly basis for a discounted rate. This is still an expense of approximately $350 a month. Please donate to support this effort: hampshiremosque.org/donate
It is required that we maintain a high standard of cleanliness for the bathrooms and masjid to remain open for the community.
May Allah be pleased with our ‘ibadah and keep us on a straight path, united as a community, and protect us from harm, Ameen.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Dear Hampshire Mosque Community,

Based on new health and state guidance, the board of Hampshire Mosque is pleased to announce the following changes in COVID-19 restrictions:

Face Masks: Hampshire Mosque policy will align with CDC & Massachusetts guidance.  Therefore, masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals. However, non-vaccinated individuals are REQUIRED  to continue wearing face masks and to continue distancing.

Social Distancing: Because many of our community members are still not vaccinated for COVID-19, so we will keep 3-feet distancing for all prayers at the masjid. Please be mindful of this spacing between yourselves.

Prayer RugPlease continue to bring your personal prayer rug with you, to limit the risk of any virus spread.

Wudu: Please continue to make wudu/ ablutions at home.

Prayers are being held in the tiled social hall to allow for daily sanitation.
